"Some of my most defining experiences and challenges was learning how to build a relationship with myself as well as others. This was really hard for me as every relationship I had was for the most part negative. Once I was able to learn to build a relationship with myself, which took years, this opened many other doors for me.

Being in the system taught me to be resilient and strong. But I wish I had resources, knowledge and someone I could depend on when I emancipated from the foster care system.

One piece of advice I can give someone in the system now is to love yourself unconditionally and know that no matter what if you want something you can have it."
