SAMANTHA HALLINAN / MAKE THAT CHANGE AND DO BETTER

"The system doesn’t have high hopes for the people who are in the foster system to graduate college. The statistics are low but we have to push, throw and make that change and do better!"

Samantha Hallinan shares #HerStory:

"The most challenging experience in the system was having the system force me back with my parents. I didn’t want to go back just to get removed from the home again!

When I finally emancipated from the system, I wish I had someone that could really see me struggling but holding it in. I've been told my whole life when I cry for help it’s because I want attention. I needed better guidance and better support for housing because even though I was in AB12 after I aged out I became homeless!

The system seems f***ed up but I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for their support and helping me pay for college!"
